Love, what's that? Beautiful, painful, frustrating, inescapable, and impossible. I can describe it, but I certainly couldn't explain it or give it a definition. It's peculiar that this funny thing called 'love' is the one thing we all experience in some way, in lots of ways, yet it's the one thing that it is pretty impossible to understand or explain. And though I'm sure Shakespeare never completely managed to pin it down, he did a pretty god job at poeticising the experiences of love in a way we can all relate to.

And now we're invited to join a literary banquet of love in all its forms - the good, the bad, and the ugly, with a new app, The Love Book. Not only can we use the app to record and share our own versions of literary classics across social networks, but some of the art's most seductive and captivating voices are keen to join in.

Narrated by Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Hiddleston, Gina Bellman, Damian Lewis, and Helen McCrory, Allie Esiri presents an anthology of timeless poems, short stories, quotes and letters, all inspired by that most noble (and most troublesome) of emotions.

The Love Book app will be available from October 3rd 2013, National Poetry Day for £1.99. And you'll be spreading the love further than you might think, as 10% of all sales will go to Save the Children, who help to support families in dire need across the globe.
