Finding home in Kettle’s Yard
Vulture Fashion shoot in Kettle’s Yard, the home-turned-gallery of Jim Ede, inspired by his philosophy of harmony and balance, and his belief that art should be lived in, not simply observed
Kettle’s Yard, located on the quieter periphery of Cambridge's bustling centre, makes a perfect location for a photo shoot that emphasises minimalism and balance. Setting foot in the house is like stepping into the frame of a painting. It is compositionally flawless: nothing is there by accident. We took inspiration from Jim Ede, the owner of the house and curator of the contemporary art that inhabits it, to create a shoot emphasising balance and harmony. Art ceases to be distant—instead it becomes lived-in as it is embedded in the ‘everyday’.
