If you picked mostly option A: The diss warrior
You’ve been in the library so much this term, your books have become your closest companions. As Week Eight draws to a close, you’re still fighting the final battle with your dissertation, barely aware of your surroundings. You haven’t seen daylight in days, and the thought of socialising or even packing your bags seems like a distant dream. You’ve locked yourself in a cycle of intense focus, determined to survive this hellish term. No distractions, just the grind.
If you picked mostly option B: The one who goes home early
For you, Week Eight is about getting out as quickly as possible. You’ve already packed up your life in record time, aided by the convenience of your parents’ help and a smooth journey home. You’re looking forward to the comfort of home life: family, familiarity, and a much-needed break. You’ve managed to skip any unnecessary academic stress and, while you may have missed a few meetings, you’re confident you’ve done enough to get by. Now, it’s all about the peace and relaxation of being away from the chaos of Cambridge.
If you picked mostly option C: The Revs addict
Week Eight might be winding down, but you’re just getting started. You’re ready to make the most of these last few days, and that means packing in as much fun as possible. A night out with friends or the rush of socialising with home-friends are at the top of your to-do list. You may not have been as focused on your work this term, but you’ve survived it with your ability to bounce back. You’re looking forward to more nights out, more fun, and more of the social scene before the dreaded quiet of Exam Term settles in.
If you picked mostly option D: The frolicker
For you, Week Eight is a bittersweet moment of reflection and enjoyment. Packing can wait; you’re more focused on soaking in the last bits of Cambridge’s charm. You’ve been wandering around town, visiting galleries and making the most of the rare sunny days. Your supervisor’s feedback can’t overshadow your love for the place, and you’re not in a rush to leave just yet. Whether it’s a long walk or a spontaneous adventure, you’re determined to embrace the present and savour every last moment before heading home for Easter.
