Varsity illustration and photography competition
Varsity is accepting submissions from students across the University for the chance to be featured in the annual Yearbook & Review
Varsity is holding an illustration and photography competition, open to all students at the University of Cambridge, for a chance to be featured in their annual Yearbook. The winning illustration will appear on the front cover, with the photograph serving as a visual spread.
What is Varsity looking for?
For illustrations:
Varsity is looking for an illustration which sums up student life at Cambridge, whether it be weaving in and out of tourists on King’s Parade, getting late-night Jacks, or spending early morning on the river. The cover should be a snapshot of student life, with a potential nod to Varsity itself or to noteworthy news stories from throughout the year. If you have your finger on the pulse of Cambridge’s current events or enjoy observing the fashion show at Sidgwick Site rather than writing your essay, then this competition is for you.
To enter, please email applications@varsity.co.uk with your illustration (A4, portrait, PNG format), name, and college.
For photography:
How would you sum up your Cambridge year in a single photo? What are the best moments, brilliant sights, or topical shots you'd like to share? You can submit up to five photos, whether a sunset shot of your college, a crazy snap from a night out, a protest on Kings Parade, or anything in between. Please be as creative as you’d like, but make sure you only submit your own original work that hasn’t been published in another publication and that any identifiable person is happy for you to share.
To enter, please fill out this form, providing your photo(s), name, college, subject, year, and CRSID, as well as a short description of each photo and its personal significance.
Email digital@varsity.co.uk with questions. Entries close on 17 May, 2022. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
