A bisexual Cambridge student has started an anonymous blog aiming to reveal details of his sexual encounters while at University.

The blog, entitled ‘The Secret Diary of a Cambridge Boy’, went online last week and has so far had four entries, including one which shares his first gay experience.

Writing under the pseudonym of ‘Joseph Jezabel’ the student has warned readers to “think orgies, think tutor rendezvous, think explicit, think love.”

In his first substantial entry he tells the story of a night out in Cambridge after which he ended up in Downing College Gardens with a male undergraduate called ‘Matt’. After providing graphic details of what he did with the boy, the entry concludes with ‘Joseph’ saying he often thinks about his first experience.

In his most recent post, made available on November 23, ‘Joseph’ recounts the tale of when he first had gay sexual intercourse. The article is called “Losing my Cherry…” and tells how he went back to a PhD student’s house after a night at Cindies. He then proceeds to share the events of the whole evening in explicit sexual detail.

A second year English student from Downing told Varsity, “It seems like this blogger is more interested in coarse titillation than genuinely exploring his sexuality and what that means in Cambridge. Would he have started his blog were it not for the fame of the anonymous 'Oxbridge Sex Blogger'? I doubt it.”

The student has the support of CUSU LBGT Co-President and Communications Officer, Jack Hare, however, who stated, “If Joe wants to explore his sexuality like this, then more power to him”.

Very little is known about the author; both his blog and twitter profiles give no details other than his pen name. ‘Joseph’ is keen to stress in his opening entry that “everything you read is 100% real life”. It is hinted that he has spent a “couple of years” at the University.

The student is not the first to start an online blog promising explicit details of sexual encounters while at University. In 2003, Dr Brooke Magnanti, otherwise known as Belle de Jour, started a blog called ‘The Secret Diary of a Call Girl’ which became world renowned. This blog described her double life as a £300 an hour call girl and research scientist at the University of Sheffield.

In February this year, a female Oxbridge student started a blog describing her sexual conquests and has since been named as one of the “40 bloggers who really count” by the Sunday Times Magazine.
