Fire at University Arms Hotel
Guests assembled on Parkers’ Piece last night as firefighters extinguished hotel flames
Hotel guests enjoying their stay at Cambridge's University Arms Hotel yesterday evening were disturbed by a fire that necessitated the aid of the emergency services and the evacuation of the building.
At 5.25pm, a crew was called to the hotel in Regent Street to extinguish a fire in the ducting of the building, which was put out using a hose.
The crew left the scene by 10.30pm after ensuring the flames had not spread to the rafters. The cause of the fire was accidental. The University Arms Hotel management had no comment to give Varsity.
