A labour of glove
You’ve got to hand it to this peculiar prankster…

No one has so far been able to put their finger on the culprit of Cambridge’s latest elaborate stunt. Office workers at the University’s Gurdon Institute, a cancer research centre on Tennis Court Road, were left baffled on Tuesday on discovering seventy single gloves placed on the railings outside. Posters of gloves with question marks underneath have also been tied below.
The glove collection has prompted much attention from passers-by. Cambridge locals have been quick to point out, however, that the gloves have appeared on the fence before. A post on the Facebook group ‘Odd Things around Cambridge’ on Wednesday from resident Julie Darsley read: “The gloves are back on Tennis Court Rd…taken over all the railings now…? waving [sic] goodbye to Winter hopefully!!!”

Nor is the mystery deed the first of its kind. The Cardrona Bra Fence in Central Ontago, New Zealand became an international tourist attraction when between 1999 and 2006 more than 800 bras were attached to the fence. The Bra Fence met its demise after those seven years after the local council deemed it a "traffic hazard", and the bras were removed.
The Varsity team have their fingers crossed that these gloves don't meet a similar fate any time soon.
