Pierce Brosnan, the British actor most famous for his role as James Bond, has been spotted in Cambridge today.

Brosnan is shooting for a new film entitled "How To Make Love Like An Englishman", directed by Tom Vaughan, whose other works include the University Challenge feature film "Starter for 10".

In this latest project, Brosnan plays a "Byronic" University of Cambridge professor, who is forced to re-evaluate his life when his girlfriend, played by Jessica Alba, falls pregnant with his baby. Salma Hayek also stars in the film. It is not known if either of the two female leads are also in Cambridge today.

Brosnan reportedly dined in the two Michelin star restaurant Midsummer House last night. He was today spotted on Clare Bridge; Sam Gregson, a student at Selwyn College posted on the Overheard in Cambridge Facebook group: "OK it's Overseen....but... walking across Clare bridge this morning I nearly bump into a well dressed and handsome older gentleman. I go to make my apologies, he turns and its one of my favourite James Bonds Pierce Brosnan".

Other students also reported the news on social media. One first year Clare student, Morven Macaulay, tweeted: "Pierce Brosnan was at Clare Bridge. Ohmylord why am I not dressed yet. #artstudentproblems".

This is not the first time in recent months that the University has played host to A-list celebrities. Earlier this term, Trinity alumnus Eddie Redmayne revisited his university town to play a young Stephen Hawking in "The Theory of Everything: The Story of Stephen Hawking", which is set to be released in 2015.
