Spotted: Boris Johnson playing bridge at Churchill College
Mayor of London Boris Johnson has been seen around the college
The blonde bombshell that is Boris Johnson has been spotted in having brunch in Churchill College, reportedly following a bridge tournament.
Second year Natural Science student, Siân McGuinnes, said on Twitter: "As if Boris Johnson has just walked through the bar #socambridge".
James D'Rozario, another Churchill student, tweeted a picture of the London mayor having brunch in hall.
Speaking to Varsity, Mr Johnson discussed the recent revelations concerning wages being paid to college staff across the university, despite insisting that "I don't want to intrude into academic politics."
He insisted that the living wage is a positive move, one which he has supported in London during his time in office as Mayor of London, citing a "700 per cent increase" in the number of companies now paying the living wage.
He added, however, that the living wage "obviously wouldn't be set at the same rate in Cambridge as in London" given the disparity in living costs. He also explained that "some companies won't be able to afford it", and that "it won't fit every company's business model", but that “there are many companies that can afford it, many organisations that can afford it, so why not?”
Boris is spending the weekend with his family in a country house in Cambridgeshire.
