The transfer market is finally starting to take shape for the Reds at Anfield, as new manager Arne Slot is making significant moves close to deadline day.

Earlier, several fans with LFC tickets voiced their concerns that the club does not have any signings, and now they are welcome to two interesting individuals who can spice things up at the club.

Fredrico Chiesa Signed

Liverpool reportedly has an ‘agreement’ to sign Juventus winger Federico Chiesa as the Italy international closes in on the move to Anfield.

This is good news as the club realises they will need cover for key positions.

And those with LFC tickets were stressing this from the start of the new transfer window.

While the Chiesa signing will be coming through, there is still lot more that Liverpool will need to do, if they need to continue their top form from last season.

The Situation

Earlier Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool is locked in talks over a potential deal for the Juventus winger, but something still needs to be agreed upon.

Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column: “Liverpool are working on the Federico Chiesa deal – they are talking to Juventus and the player’s agent. Liverpool are understanding the deal’s conditions, with Juve asking for around €15m for the player, who can leave as a free agent next summer.

“The salary will also be a crucial point, and this is one of the things Liverpool are discussing. Talks are ongoing; let’s see what happens, but of course, if Chiesa ends up leaving Juventus, this could help them improve their proposal for a replacement like Jadon Sancho.

For the club, Chiesa would be an ideal signing. He is the perfect fit for Liverpool; he’s fast and deserves to play in a team with offensive football like Liverpool, as Juventus under Allegri was too defensive.

This rumour was the earlier update from Romano that got the fans with LFC tickets in high spirits. He concluded the turn of events with another update that there is an agreement.

Romano wrote on X: “Federico Chiesa to Liverpool, here we go! The agreement is done for €13m initial fee with add-ons.

“Four-year contract for Chiesa as new Liverpool player, set to fly later today. Chiesa accepted Liverpool immediately. Deal DONE.”

Meanwhile, the Athletic’s David Ornstein says Liverpool have ‘made travel arrangements for the Italy international’.

‘He will undergo a medical in Merseyside with personal terms in place on a four-year contract at Anfield.

‘Liverpool are set to pay their Serie A counterparts a fee in the region of €13million (£10.9m), although the two clubs are yet to reach a full agreement. Should all go to plan, Chiesa will become Liverpool’s first summer signing under new head coach Arne Slot.’

Giorgi Mamardashvili Signed

Liverpool have agreed to sign Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in a deal worth up to £29m.

The 23-year-old will join, subject to a work permit and international clearance, for a fee of £25m plus £4m in add-ons.

However, he will remain with the La Liga club this season before moving to Merseyside for the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

Brazil international Alisson Becker remains the Reds’ first-choice goalkeeper, while new manager Arne Slot also has Republic of Ireland stopper Caoimhin Kelleher available this season.

Mamardashvili played in Georgia’s four games at Euro 2024 before the country was knocked out by eventual winners Spain in the last 16.

Since joining Valencia in 2021, he has made 102 appearances and started both their fixtures this season—defeats against Barcelona and Celta Vigo.

Liverpool moved for Mamardashvili now as he may have yet to be available to them with growing interest in the next 12-24 months.

Alisson has two years and the option of a further year left on his Liverpool contract.

The 31-year-old Brazilian has been aware of and supportive of the move for Mamardashvili, who is seen as capable of strengthening the club’s depth of talent in that position in the future.

Despite attraction from Saudi clubs for the signing of Alisson, the Brazilian has renewed hope with all those with LFC tickets that he is staying at the club.

The new signing will likely see some game time during the FA Cup games and the League Cup.

Klopp Impressed with Slot

Jürgen Klopp said he believes Arne Slot’s imprint on Liverpool is already “obvious,” adding that he doesn’t miss the job, but he does miss the players.

Slot took charge of his first Premier League match on Saturday and helped Liverpool win 2-0 at Ipswich.

It was the first competitive match of the post-Klopp era, as Slot replaced the man who took charge of Liverpool for almost nine years and led them to the Champions League title in 2019, the Premier League in 2020, an FA Cup and two League Cup triumphs.

Replacing the German coach would always be difficult, but Klopp said he was delighted when Liverpool turned to Slot and concluded their business early in the summer.

In an interview with ESPN Netherlands, Klopp said: “Arne, yeah. Really good coach. I was really happy when I heard that Liverpool was going for Arne Slot. I wasn’t involved in anything; it should not be like that. I’m not this kind of guy in the background, but I still have some strings and stuff. Like, I don’t want that. The club is too big, too good. [The] People are too good.

“A lot of things changed since we left. But the only concern for me was whether they would get a good coach. Liverpool was early, and Liverpool got a top solution for Arne Slot.”

He added: “I like his football a lot [how he] played it with, with [Feyenoord], so that’s really good. I saw the Sevilla game and the preseason friendly at Anfield – big parts of it were really good. And the league game [against Ipswich], the second half was obviously really good.”

“But it’s not important that I like it. You can see he is a very good coach, and the team, I know now better than most, is a really good squad. So it’ll work out really well.”

Klopp and Slot spoke in the early stages of the handover period and have kept in touch since. Having watched Liverpool’s preseason and triumph over Ipswich, Klopp can already see clear signs of Slot’s philosophy making an impact at the club.

Those with LFC tickets will be eyeing two key clashes for September and October, with them being the matches against Manchester United and Chelsea.

These games will be crucial for Slot’s team to show the world they mean business.
