Sporting idol? Oh Sang-uk. He has unbelievable power and flexibility.

Best moment? Winning 14–5 against the bronze medallist of the national championships.

Worst moment? Losing 15–14 to a Czech cadet in my first European competition after leading the whole fight.

Most embarrassing moment? Forgetting to bring not only my fencing shoes, but any footwear whatsoever (except sliders) to a training session.

Best victory? The 2020 men’s firsts' Varsity competition, when Alex Schlindwein brought back the foil to win the match by one hit.

Worst defeat? The 2022 women’s firsts losing Varsity because too many team members were injured to participate.

Best thing about being a captain? Having the authority to get club members to practice footwork and drills.

Worst thing about being a captain? When you can't get the best arrangements for your team.

Why is your sport the best? Fencing has the perfect balance in requiring power and flexibility, calmness, tactical planning, technique, and honed senses of distance and timing. Everything comes down to the centimetre or hundredth of a second.

Why is Cambridge Fencing Club the best? It is endlessly welcoming and beneficial to all. On top of the social friendliness, the facilities are there for a dedicated beginner to become a seconds team member or a dedicated intermediate to become a blue.

Who has the best chat? Tang. He comes out with the best bangers when you least expect it.

Who receives the most fines? Artem. Wine gives him the ability to vault fences or get an entire club banned from a college's dining hall.

One to watch? Rudi. He wants a blue and knows how to train hard.
