Exclusive: Magdalene announce DJ headliner for May Ball
The traditional night of glamour will take an unexpected turn with a world-famous performer
Magdalene’s May Ball will star Kristian Nairn as one of two headliners for its annual night of entertainment and elegance, Violet can reveal.
Magdalene revellers can expect to see out the Summer Solstice in style on the Wednesday of May Week, dancing to the tune of the Northern Irish musician and actor, best known as Hodor in ‘Game of Thrones’.
“Fresh from his world tour, we're sure his set is going to be a highlight on the night”

Though renowned for his on-screen loyalty, muscle and door-handling, Nairn is equally dextrous behind the decks. The progressive house DJ took his ‘Rave of Thrones’ tour to the US and Australia in 2014 and more recently, he performed at the 25th BlizzCon video game convention.
DJ Nairn promises to raise the Benedictine roofs when he brings his diverse talents to Magdalene after finishing a world tour this spring.
The College’s May Ball president, Annie Plews, was excited to provide the update. “Fresh from his world tour, we’re sure his set is going to be a highlight on the night,” she said.
“The Committee have been working really hard on getting a great entertainment line-up for the Magdalene May Ball, so stay tuned for more exciting announcements!”
Plews told ticket-holders to stay tuned for news about the second major Magdalene headliner, a live act, in due course. The announcement will also be made exclusively on Violet.
The insistence on a white tie dress code, enigmatic absence of theme and popularity of £460 dining tickets means Magdalene’s event remains one of the most notable May Balls
