The top five street style blogs
Megan Lea takes a look at some of the best online street style blogs

Finding style inspiration has never been easier thanks to the phenomenon of street style blogging, giving us access to a wealth of photographs of the enviably chic from cities around the world. Monochromatic style dominates these websites but this description fails to do justice to the bizarre combinations of shapes, fabrics and prints that each blogger utilises Sites like these are numerous and easy to discover, chronicling the creative endeavours of fashionistas and trendsetters across the globe. Whether you find inspiration from a smart Parisian stranger or bewilderment at a Susie Bubble-esque mash-up of neon and weird shapes, street style blogs are fun, dynamic, and a great way to procrastinate!
No roundup of the best street style blogs would be complete without The Sartorialist. Started way back in 2005, Scott Schuman’s blog is probably the most well-known of its kind, and for good reason. The dynamic pictures and range of characters arguably capture the essence of street style photography – the creativity and who’s-that-girl mystery of those who stand out from the crowd.
Part of what makes this site so great is the sheer size of the pictures which are uniform in composition and pleasing to the eye. Alongside models, fashion editors and other it-girls are ordinary people – the occasional juxtaposition of head-to-toe Valentino with ordinary high street fashion is refreshing and shows that you don’t have to be super rich to be stylish.
3) Le 21ème
This is, we are told, NOT a street style blog – it does however contain some beautiful photographs of stylish people in streets. The wide pictures are eye-catching and interesting, and scrolling through a page or two you will see all sorts of inspiring looks, every subject (many of whom appear with their head cropped out of the picture) exuding cool.
4) Guerreisms
This is a blog that mostly features men – even the women whose pictures appear tend to be dressed in an androgynous style – snapped in the midst of striding around, texting, chatting, looking out over their kingdom and so on. The landscape-orientated photographs and abundance of torso close-ups are effective; as with Le 21ème, the focus here is on the details of the clothes rather than the person wearing them.
5) Candice Lake
Alongside model/photographer Candice Lake’s personal blog is a great street style archive. The photos here are crisp and cheerful, and each one is accompanied by a ‘shop the edit’ feature. True, you almost certainly won’t want to spend hundreds of pounds recreating an Elena Perminova look, but it is a nice thought.
