‘SU-permarket’ offers free groceries to students
From 28 January, the Cambridge Student’s Union (SU) will open its new ‘SU-permarket’ pop-up store providing free essential groceries for students. It will be open every Tuesday and Friday between 4pm and 6pm during term time in the University Centre on Mill Lane, offering a wide range of essentials. Cambridge alum Stephen Fry celebrates tenth wedding anniversary
Sir Stephen Fry, who studied English literature at Queens’ College, recently celebrated his tenth wedding anniversary with his husband. Fry shared a rare picture to commemorate the occassion, after the two haven’t been pictured together for almost six years. Fry’s anniversary post comes a fortnight after he was awarded a knighthood in the New Year’s Honours.
Virtual tour of University of Cambridge launches
A personalised virtual tour of the UK’s University of Cambridge has been launched by The Virtual Tour Experts. Aimed at prospective students and alumni, it offers a unique digital journey through the University. It uses 360 degree video, photography, and AI, alongside 3D mapping and guided video commentary to help users explore the colleges and landmark buildings. Say goodbye to feeling college-sick during the summer holidays!
Cambridge curriculum fast-tracked in Uzbekistan
Ravshan Usmanov, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the UK, met with the Head of Europe, Central Asia, and the Americas, Steve King, at Cambridge University Press and Assessment’s Partnership for Education. King emphasised the organization’s willingness to strengthen the educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UK. Specifically, practical collaborations will be accelerated, including the implementation of the Cambridge curriculum in schools across the Republic.
